​Clinic Update: FHO+ and Clinic Changes Effective April 1, 2026

      As of April 1st, there have been changes to how care is delivered in family medicine across Ontario. The Ministry of Health is introducing a new FHO+ model that focuses on direct patient encounters. As a result, you may notice some updates in how our clinic operates.

What this means for you:

  • Appointments will be required for most medical concerns.
This includes discussing test results, receiving medical advice, or addressing new concerns. Secure patient messaging will mainly be used for administrative purposes.

  • Visits will focus on one main issue.
If you have multiple concerns, you may be asked to book additional appointments so each issue can be properly addressed.

  • Medication renewals and reviews require an appointment.
This may be done by telephone, virtual, or in-person appointment.

  • Wait times may increase.
Due to the increased focus on direct patient care, appointment demand may rise and wait times may be longer. If you are unable to attend your appointment, please cancel in advance so we can offer the time to another patient.

  • No show fee for missed appointments.
Missed appointments without at least 24 hours’ notice will be subject to a $50 no-show fee.
